toothbrush, ball, fork, spoon, washcloth; blindfold
Procedures
1. Seat children in a quiet corner or at a small table. Talk
about the secret bag.
2. Begin by blindfolding one child and have him/her choose an object out of the
bag. While blindfolded, he/she should name it and then describe or show what it
does. The teacher and other children can ask the blindfolded child questions
about how the object feels and what it is made of. If he/she can't name the
object, remove the blindfold and ask the child to show how it is used. Have the
child repeat the object's name.
3. Continue having each child take turns digging into the secret bag and naming
and demonstrating the use of the found object. VariationTo do as a large group activity, involve the children in giving clues to the blindfolded child (color, sound it starts with, where it's used, etc).
