Mono-Prints
Simple but impressive.
Kids are amazed at their own artistic talent when they peel off the print and
see what they’ve created.
Objectives
Children ages 5-6
years can draw recognizable pictures that are things of importance to
her/him FM II
Children ages 4-5 years can draw meaningful but unrecognizable pictures FM III
Children 1 ½-2 years can scribble imitatively FM III
All children can participate in drawing dots and circular shapes.
Materials
Water-based block
print ink; a sheet of glass; paper; block print rollers; pencils; newsprint or
light weight paper.
Procedures
1. The teacher will
roll out an area of ink for each child. Have the child smooth on a piece of
paper and draw with a pencil.
2. When they are finished drawing and describing the picture they have drawn,
have them peel off the paper to find a beautiful “print” on the other side.
3. These prints look very handsome when framed or mounted on cardboard. |
